In December of 2006, Jennifer invited six American women, each grieving the death of a child, on a very unique trip: a 17-day intensive pilgrimage to work as volunteers in rural South Africa. Motherland was inspired by Jennifer’s close friend who lost her son in a car accident, and the trip was designed to test the theory that “giving can be healing.” Motherland wrapped post-production at Remedy in September 2008.
